“Sea salt saved my life” is how we imagined the story behind Amagansett Sea Salt Co. would begin. Sadly (or perhaps gladly) there is nothing so dramatic behind our story.

Amagansett has been a major and stable part of our lives for more than 40 years. As each season passed and we grew from kids playing in the outdoors, to young adults playing in the outdoors and in the Hamptons nightspots, to more grown up adults still playing outdoors but less so in the nightspots, the ocean remained a constant. As our time in the Hamptons moved from motels, to parents’ homes, to share houses, and finally to our own home, the ocean was always there.

While the ocean was never the same from day to day, it was a steady force. When times were good, the sea was there to put us in place.
When times were hard, the rolling waves were a welcome and comforting distraction. When we were away for the ocean too long, we yearned for the sound of the crashing waves and the salty taste on our lips.

We are sure that Amagansett Sea Salt, with its clean, pure “taste of the sea”, will soon become your favorite finishing salt.
