Well, we did it!

Amagansett Sea Salt Co. – a marriage of my love for salt and my love of Amagansett. First, I will always choose salty over sweet – olive oil with a touch of sea salt and crusty bread over chocolate cake any day. And I love sea salt. It actually has flavor, crunching over your teeth - unlike those iodized processed salts that you buy in the grocery store. And, I live for the ocean. I feel rejuvenated by the air, the sounds of the waves and the clean seawater. I spend every second I can by the beach. Last year, while sitting on the beach munching on carrots from the local produce stand sprinkled with salt (very Italian, by the way), I wondered why we can’t try to make sea salt ourselves. They do it in Spain and St Bart’s, why not here in this beautiful spot? It is a good reason to be close the ocean and an opportunity to explore my taste buds. "Husband", I said, "make this so". And so he did, working months and months trudging heavy containers of sea water, perfecting solar evaporation and filtering techniques and me, doing the tasting and blending. And now the day is here that we can share this taste perfection with you!

We will be at the East Hampton Farmers’ Market (in the Nick & Toni’s parking lot) on Fridays (starting 5/27) from 9 to 1, the Sag Harbor Farmers' Market (in front of the Breakwater Yacht Club) on Saturdays (starting 5/28) from 9 to 1, and the Route 27 Farmers Market in Amagansett (in the field by the American Legion Hall) on Wednesdays (starting 6/8) from 9 to 1. There is also our store on our website! So please, give our sea salts a try – it is a little bit of my favorite place in the world.

I saw you guys at the Sag Harbor farmers market yesterday. I spoke with Steve (?) a bit and tasted your plain and your lemon salt - they were fantastic! I didn't have any cash with me (are you planning on taking credit cards?), but I will be back next week with money. Thanks!
