By carefully balancing solar evaporation and exposure to the crisp, clean ocean breezes, we cultivate the most wonderful salt available. Our salt is available in the pure, right-from-the-ocean formulation and a variety of naturally infused and flavored salt blends. Choose from Individual Jars, Combination Sets, Sampler Tins, and Subscription Boxes. Membership in our Finishing Salt Club and a variety of accessories and logo wear are also available.

Members of our Finishing Salt Club are invited to visit and tour our facility on specified dates. Due to the unpredictability of outdoor solar evaporation and weather, the sensitivity of our process, insurance requirements, and the private easements crossed to reach our saltworks, tours are not otherwise available.

Our saltworks is located down a ¼ mile long grass trial off of Town Lane in Amagansett. Searching 318 Town Lane, Amagansett, NY on a map gives a pretty good idea of where our saltworks is located. The trail entrance is on the south side of the road about 700 feet east of the intersection with Windmill Lane and immediately adjacent to the start of a deer fence. A small "S" is on the corner fencepost. A couple of turns and several potholes on the trail (low-slung cars may have trouble navigating the trail) may convince you that you are in the wrong place, but stay the course and you will find us.

We are committed to providing our customers with fantastic salt and a great experience. If you are unhappy with a product you purchased from us, please let us know and we will try our hardest to resolve your issue to your satisfaction.

As our salt is intended for human ingestion, to safeguard the health of our customers all sales are “final” and may not be returned or exchanged, except for products damaged in transit and if we otherwise agree (because we truly are nice people). If your purchase arrives damaged, contact us as provided below within 30 days and we will replace the damaged item or refund your payment. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. We may ask you to send us a photo of the damaged item or return it to us (in which case we will pay the cost of shipping) so we can pursue a claim with the shipping carrier.

Orders are typically shipped 1 to 3 days after being placed and paid for. Salt is a natural flavor enhancer - a light dressing of Amagansett Sea Salt (just a couple of grains per bite) boosts and intensifies the flavors already in your ingredients. In addition, a few grains of our salt on top of foods add a 'to die for' soft crunch and an exciting visual appeal.

Our Pure Amagansett Sea Salt brings the taste of the ocean and is the go-to salt we use on everything. We turn to our flavored blends when looking for something tasting and looking a bit different or wanting an additional nuanced taste layer. Use our infused and flavored finishing salt blends in the same way you use our unflavored sea salt. Here are some salt/food pairings we use in our kitchen:

Pure Sea Salt- Anything and everything, savory and sweet, benefits from a light dressing of our salt. Bring out flavors, add visual interest, and create wonderful textural appeal.

Herbes de Provence Salt- Great on roasted veggies and potatoes. Fantastic on a steak right off the grill — no need to salt before. Helps make roasted chicken taste like the French countryside.

Lemon Zest Salt - Seafood and veggies. The lemon brightens and the salt amps up flavors. 'Nuff said.

Dill & Fennel Salt- Bobby Flay's crew says to try this blend "sprinkled on roasted vegetables and in a Bloody Mary." Who are we to disagree? We also suggest trying it on fish. And sausage.

Merlot Wine Salt - Pairs well with steak or grilled striped bass. Also, a fun idea: scoop vanilla ice cream, drizzle with high-quality olive oil, then sprinkle with the Merlot Sea Salt — delicious!

Rosé Wine Salt - on sliced tomato or salad; also ideal for flaky white fish, such as flounder, sautéed shrimp or bay scallops. Sauté in olive oil, then finish with this salt. The hot pink flavor plays well on any white-colored dish.

Truffle Salt - We love this on roasted duck, adore it sprinkled on top of a light pasta — like pumpkin ravioli with brown butter sauce — and think this salt is perfect for making creamy scrambled eggs even more perfect. Oh yes, this blend is a must-have for popcorn!

Aleppo Pepper Salt- When our foods need a bit spicing up, we reach for this blend. Not hot, but tangy, this salt blend pairs perfectly with vegetables, seafood, and the rim of your cocktail glass.

Exceptional salt starts with clean, cold, fast-moving seawater. The ocean at Amagansett, on the South Fork of the East End of Long Island in New York, about 15 miles from Montauk Point, is our source. Here, the tremendous volume of water moving into and out of Long Island Sound creates a 'siphon' effect causing deep, offshore ocean water to come close to shore. Far from industry, effluent or runoff of any kind, this is the cleanest, purest ocean water found. It is this pristine seawater from which Amagansett Sea Salt emerges.

Amagansett's name comes from the Montaukett tribe's word meaning "place of good water." While this probably referred to the clean and abundant fresh water ponds in our hamlet, we choose to believe it now refers to the ocean.

Our traditional process – harvesting pure ocean water by hand then filtering and solar-evaporating it outdoors - allows our finishing salt to develop the unique “merroir” of the Atlantic and Amagansett and creates our exceptional Amagansett Sea Salt with its renowned briny flavor, pristine white color and soft crunchy texture.
